![]() ![]() As it turns out, there were RV hookups right outside our cottage and a carport big enough for the RV to pull under. When we checked in they had our friends in an RV site in the main campground, but our cottage was on the other side of the office off by itself next to a private residence. When booking our reservation I needed a place that could work for both of us. While the couple we were traveling with had the RV, we needed a furnished cabin since we had flown out to Rapid City where they had picked us up. We were traveling with another couple and had a RV along with a trailer for our motorcycles. The owner went out of her way to make sure our visit was pleasant - and we weren't disappointed. ![]() Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and within an hour of Deadwood and 20 minutes from Hill City. There were nice big pull through sites in the back for the big rigs and nice remote secluded tent sites as well. The facilities were great - full hook ups - level sites, fire-pit - wood available for purchase, laundry facilities, play ground, heated pool, excellent restrooms and well groomed grounds. We ended up liking the park and it's central location so much we booked a third night which happened to be available despite the busy campground. It turns out we could have accessed the park via 385 with none of the hills or turns or tunnels. We traveled here from Yellowstone and our GPS took us on highway 87 and through the Hood Tunnel - it was near dark and we were panicking we were not going to fit but thankfully it was all good - despite some tense moments. We are new to RV'ing and booked 2 nights here on our trip across Canada from Ontario to Northern Alberta and back thru the United States. ![]()
